Job Introduction
**Community Safety Coordinator**

**Salary - £41,418 - £46,464 (Grade 7)**

**Hours - 37 per week (flexible working)**

**Contract type - full time**

The Safer Wolverhampton Partnership aims to improve the quality of life for people who live, work and visit Wolverhampton by co-ordinating partnership activity to prevent and reduce crime and disorder and protect people from harm. To support continuation of this work, the post is being recruited to the Community Safety Team on a full time permanent basis.

Wolverhampton’s vision is for the people of Wolverhampton to live longer, healthier lives. Key to achieving this vision is working in partnership with both statutory agencies and our community and voluntary sector to keep residents and communities safe and protect the most vulnerable. Positioned within the Public Health Directorate, the Community Safety coordinator will work to address and influence the city’s response to reducing crime, perception of crime, problem solving and introduce initiatives which protect and support our communities.

The post holder will have knowledge of legislation, structures and best practice in relation to community safety partnerships and experience of working with a wide range of partners and communities to co-produce strategy and deliver activity. They will be highly organised, an excellent communicator and negotiator and have a sound understanding of both national legislation, local priorities and strategies surrounding community safety.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support and drive forward the Council’s priority of preventing crime and disorder across the City.

**Our working arrangements**

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
