An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Thermal Hydraulics
- Submarines to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby.

You will be a change agent, influencing the way RRSL delivers nuclear products and services by driving the adoption of new technologies, tools, management arrangements and working practices, to result in tangible improvements both within the Submarines Enterprise and future product opportunities. Remain close to external thermal hydraulic technology & capability developments to identify and drive exploitation opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:
You will develop a strong outward focus, representing the company in external forums, both within the Submarines enterprise and across wider industry, to promote good practice and to influence and promote the delivery of company and project strategies.
- Develop, promote and drive forward a thermal hydraulic capability strategy that supports the existing product portfolio, enables novel nuclear products and other future market opportunities and will deliver tangible benefits to the customer and business.
- Provide advice, support and direction to the Engineering Leadership, and their teams, in responding to their strategic and tactical challenges and in driving the right technical direction of their operational, simplification and improvement programmes.
- Working with the Heads of Capability to shape the people/processes/tools of RRSL to meet the strategic aims and drive change.
- Coach and mentor the technical specialist community on thermal hydraulic technology to foster innovation, diverse thinking and interdisciplinary working.

- Degree Level or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of thermal hydraulic capability used within other businesses/industry sectors
- Knowledge of the people skills, processes and tools necessary to support and develop the thermal hydraulic capability in order to meet the current and future aims of the business
- Able to interpret complex business requirements, translating them into technical requirements and deliver high value insights and productivity gains.
- A level of domain knowledge relevant to the market(s) within which you work (e.g. Defence, Submarines)
