**The Role of the Automation Engineer**
- As the Automation Engineer you will be involved in designing Industrial Hydraulic Power Units "Engineer to order solutions".
- You need to be able to design a system from a sheet of paper upwards - designing the control panel and doing costings etc... You may also get involved in commissioning of the Control Panels.
- You will need to get an offshore safety certificate as may be some time away from home from time to time, maybe in a ship or platform.
- Working on PLC systems & software, instrumentation & closed loop control (PID).
- Working within the industrial sector such as Marine, Offshore, Civils, Automotive, Aerospace, Renewables etc...

**The Ideal Person for the Automation Engineer**
- Ideally you will have 10 years + experience of Controls or Automation Engineering and ideally have good experience of Electro-Hydraulic Control System Design.
- You will have an understanding of PLC systems & software, instrumentation & closed loop control (PID).
- Understanding of PLC programming in other software languages.
- Able to design and build a control panel from a blank sheet of paper up.
- Minimum HND + in controls engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, mechatronic engineering or similar.
- Hard working, collaborative, very technically savvy, self motivated, driven, presentable.
