Teaching Assistant - Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist Education and Training - Milton Keynes-Teaching Assistant

We are looking for teaching assistants and aspiring speech and language therapists to join one of our specialist schools that support children with a range of communication needs associated specific learning difficulties.

The School:
The school is an innovative provider of education, based in Milton Keynes. The school provides care and education for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

School provides flexible day placements for students aged 7-19 years with communication and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriersto learning.

Summary:
**Specialist primary school provision for students with communication and specific learning needs. All the students at the school have struggled in mainstream settings and require a more specialist provision.

**Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques

**Therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors

**An Integrated Therapeutic Approach and extensive 1-1 support for every pupil

**Specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS

**The school likes to focus on LSAs who know their objectives and who would like to continue their journey to become a speech and language therapist

**A psychology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable

**April start - Long term/permanent role £410 per week
