Working for an established business based in Newmarket who are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to add to their established team.

This will be a hands on role and will suit someone ideally with a few years experience gained within a similar role who is looking to progress and develop their career.

Duties will be varied and will include taking ownership of the stock ordering process across all departments. This will mean supporting members of operational teams in their ordering and being proactive in this area, ensuring materials are always in stockand available.

You will also be responsible for the inventory control system and processes (e.g. stock booking in, requests, picking, consumption, re-order) and looking after all the stores area which means maintaining a secured, controlled stores area with specified goodsin area and process. In addition to this you will devise and maintain adequate stocks of consumable items and develop controlled stock locations across the site, while setting and maintaining minimum stock quantities.

The Purchasing Manager will also:
Identify and exploit opportunities for process improvement and cost saving.

Actively liaise with suppliers to secure cost-effective supply and best pricing.

Source new suppliers and ensure resilience and cost control are maintained.

Assist in the various instrumental service and maintenance agreements.

Control consumable costs through the implementation and improvement of processes.

Lead the team of Warehouse staff in the delivery of their roles.
