**About the role**
Balfour Beatty are looking for a **Logistics Specialist **to join our Plant and Fleet team based in **Derby **.

Within this role you'll be a key member of the Derby Plant &; Logistics Team, managing all aspects of haulage (national & international) with responsibility for organising the haulage requirements for businesses across the Balfour Beatty Group (UK)

**What you'll be doing**
As a **Logistics Specialist **, you will have the following accountabilities:

- Responsible for organising customs import/export clearance documentation for BB Group
- Organise and coordinate the transportation of equipment to & from Balfour Beatty / Supplier sites and depots using couriers
- Responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of cost reduction strategies ensuring a cost efficient service to our customers
- Responsible for providing appropriate order numbers to suppliers and reviewing subsequent invoicing for accuracy prior to GRN
- Ensure timely and controlled movements of all plant and equipment to minimise any disruption to project works
- Provide support to the National Logistics Manager with inventory audits and implementation of inventory systems across BB Group Companies
- Attend customer/supplier meetings where necessary, ensuring that service levels are met and monitored
- Implement regular Management Information Reports providing weekly / monthly information on cost / performance & savings
- Continually review the performance of external suppliers and provide feedback where necessary

**Who we're looking for**
You will have the following:

- Previous experience of managing haulage movements through 3rd Party Suppliers
- Demonstration exceptional planning skills
- Good IT Skills, in particular Oracle together with Microsoft packages such as Excel and Word
- Inventory Management experience
