Job Title: GP Receptionist / Secretary

The Dunstan Partnership is looking for an enthusiastic, professional, efficient and organised GP Receptionist / Secretary to join our admin team, working full time Monday to Friday.

We are a very busy, progressive, forward thinking and friendly, multi-disciplinary GP Training Practice with a patient population of 10,400 patients and a “Good” CQC Rating, working in a modern, purpose-built Health Centre, with excellent facilities.

The successful applicant would be responsible for a wide range of reception duties and providing general admin, clerical and secretarial support to the Practice Team and its patients. Duties include greeting and directing patients in person and by telephone, in a professional and friendly manner, booking appointments, scanning hospital correspondence, handling and processing sensitive information whilst maintaining confidentiality. Your aim will be to make the patient journey as smooth and efficient as possible. Acting as a central point of contact, you will also process and distribute information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team and liaise with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies, such as hospitals, and community service providers, taking responsibility for ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and completion.

Secretarial duties will include the provision of an efficient audio and copy typing service for the GPs, clinicians and other health professionals. This will include typing letters, reports and patient referrals to hospitals and other agencies.

The role would suit someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, who can undertake various types of administrative work in a busy but very supportive environment. You will be expected to use your initiative, work efficiently and productively, be flexible, be able to multi-task and have the ability to prioritise and organise your workload.

A polite, empathetic telephone manner, together with excellent keyboarding and typing skills are essential. GP Practice experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Pay is dependent on GP Practice experience.

Qualifications:

- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephone systems
- Familiarity with basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £22,885.51-£24,886.76 per year
