Job description:
**Rail Trainer -PTS - Golborne**
Due to continued growth and to support the J. Murphy & Sons self-delivery model we have created a new role for a Technical Rail Trainer to work out of our purpose built training centre based as Astley. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team andlead on training, specific to the rail industry. You will enjoy working with a well-established team that will offer you continued development.
**What you will be doing**
- Check and complete SSOWP / SWP prior to Site Visit and return as per internal 019 process
- Ensure all personnel are trained in accordance with Contractual Requirements, Company Policies and Procedures, Sentinel Rules, Network Rail Standards and RSSB Railway Group Standards
- Hold and maintain the PTS and COSS competencies
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the contents of the standards for the competencies for which you provide training as covered by the RTAS Scheme
- Only use current Network Rail Approved Training Materials from the Network Rail Training Toolkit for the competencies covered by the Sentinel Scheme and / or RTAS, and deliver training in accordance with the Assured Providers management system and all NetworkRail specific requirements
- When or about the NRMI, act in a safe manner at all times, in line with the Lifesaving Rules and Murphy Simple Actions, and follow instructions given by the responsible person on duty
- Deliver Training Courses to Rail personnel in a suitably equipped Training room and on site facilities where required using Method Statements, Task Briefing Documents and Risk Assessments as described in the current NSAR Inspection Framework
- Set-up and utilise specific Network Rail lesson plans for Safety Critical Training and On Track Plant Courses but only for the courses you are authorised to Train
- Set-up and deliver your own custom built PowerPoint presentations for all Network Rail Re - Certification Courses using the “Guide to creating custom presentations” if required
- Ensure you attend your CPD reviews, Trainer Exams, Trainer Live Observations and complete your Work Experience Logbooks and Assessments as required to maintain your Trainer competence
- Keep up to date with the Rail Industry in general and any advances in Training and Assessment development approaches to ensure the provision of a “best practice” service to clients
**Who we are looking for**
- Hold and maintain the PTS and COSS competencies
- Enjoy working in a people and safety focussed role
- Min level 3 trainer (training & education)
- Assessor qualification
- Safety critical competencies up to ES level (Engineering Supervisor)
- NSAR approved trainer
- PTS, ES, COSS, Site Warden.
