Role: Maintenance Manager

**Salary**: Excellent - Depending on experience

Location: Smethwick / West Bromwich

Hours: 7.30am - 4.00pm

The Business: £75 million in turnover, this diversified business operates out of 8 office locations employing over 350 staff across the UK. It manufactures a range of diverse products for industries that include Construction, Aerospace, Automotive, exportingto many countries worldwide. They consider themselves to be the largest supplier of one of their products to the whole construction market.

Direct Reports: 3 Fitters, 2 Electricians & Facilities Staff

Size of site: 200,000 sq ft

You will require:

- An industrial background and a good knowledge and understanding of machinery.
- Formal qualification in an electrical or mechanical maintenance discipline ( ideally with a crossover of knowledge ) in order to offer technical support to the maintenance team.
- Excellent man management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work.
- Good computer skills required for use of PC based maintenance system.
- To be hands on as and when required to support the maintenance team.
- Autocad skills would be an advantage, though not essential.

Duties include but not limited to:

- You will be the primary contact for all maintenance issues - including responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of site facilities.
- Control, planning and issue of PPM's, breakdowns and corrective actions using ShireSystem CMM package.
- Ensure timely response to machine breakdowns, communicating with inter-company departments as required to manage expectations.
- Liaise with support service providers as required.
- Control of equipment insurance inspections and corrective actions.
- Control of contractors on site, ensuring all contractors on site have suitable permit to work and have provided relevant risk assessment.
- Manage the maintenance team including task delegation, holiday booking, time and attendance and training.
- Ensure / audit quality of work carried out by maintenance team.
- Ensure safe working procedures are adhered to.
- Identify/order and source spares/materials as required.
- Manage and control spare parts storage and issue.
- Hands on approach to support team members as required.
- Mentor and oversee department apprentices.
- Control of PAT / fixed installation testing.
- Issue and control of internal permits to work.
- Sit on site safety committee.
