An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, hardworking and dynamic individuals to join the Trust as housekeeper on Ward 5. This is a permanent post.

Ward 5 is the Paediatric Neurosciences ward, (9 beds) caring for children with neurosurgical conditions, between the ages of 0-18 years.

Responsibilities include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in both patient and non-patient areas, ensuring adequate stock levels, monitoring and ordering supplies as necessary. Collecting and delivering pharmacy supplies, ordering, distributing and collecting patient food/snack boxes, along with providing patients with drinks and snacks as requested.

Responsibilities for this post include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in both patient and non-patient areas, ensuring adequate stock levels, monitoring and ordering supplies as necessary. You should possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work well with all members of the multidisciplinary team to enable everyone to provide excellent care to patients and families.

To help maintain a high standard of family centred care by providing a safe and suitable environment and that shortfalls are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

To work in partnership with staff and parents to try and adapt the environment in order to meet any diverse and special environmental needs

To support in a non clinical way those who provide direct patient care.

To co-ordinate services provided by the Estates and Facilities and will work closely with support services departments.

To monitor quality standards in the role of Ward Housekeeper, report deficiencies and take appropriate action.

To meet specific tasks for individual patient needs as will be determined by the nurse-in charge.
