Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers, is looking for a Procurement Assistant to work onsite at its Nuclear Power Station in Leiston, Suffolk. The Procurement Assistant will provide a purchasing service in support of station operation andmaintenance including placement of purchase orders and contracts for all services and non-stock goods. They will also provide a commercial support service to help deliver value-for-money acquisition solutions.
Main Responsibilities:

- Ensure that 'value for money' is obtained from the supply of all goods and services.
- Contribute to the development and refining of the station acquisition plan using the appropriate procurement strategy in all areas of key expenditure.
- Ensure correct use of VISA card in accordance with company guidelines and process.
- Where contracts are within the station delegated level of authority, contribute to supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation and placement. Advise and support Contract Managers in variation and claim management.
- Where contracts exceed the station delegated level of authority, provide support and advice, as necessary, for supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, placement, variation management and claim management.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Acquire Goods and Services Process (AGS), plus any other legislation, rules and procedures which may apply.
- Identify, understand, manage and communicate commercial risks and, when appropriate, seek support from Barnwood HQ, to minimise the company's risk exposure.
- Resolve invoice queries wherever possible to enable prompt payment.
- Produce and compile Management Information for procurement activities at station.
- Supports the minor contracts process and owns contracts (as required)
- Administers the departments corrective action programme

Skills and Experience Required:

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Team player who can also work with own initiative.
- Good IT literacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to support with the delivery of messages to station staff.

**If successful, you will be employed by Manpower working on a temporary assignment at our client's site and will need to undergo vetting checks as well as a drug & alcohol test.
