The main requirement of the role will be to work collaboratively across Council services and key stakeholders to oversee the client responsibilities for technical disrepair and specialist works.

There are several functions the post holder will be responsible for including:

- To develop an understanding and awareness of the emerging Building Safety Bill and how this will impact on the work of the team.
- To manage a team of specialist surveyors to plan and deliver repairs and improvements to Council properties.
- To have a detailed understanding of the disrepair protocol, including prevention, responses to claims and delivery of any required works.
- To establish relationships with key stakeholders including elected members and customers.
- Work with partners in legal services to develop responses and strategies in relation to the disrepair protocol.
- To have a detailed understanding of health and safety in relation to scheme delivery, specifically CDM.
- To ensure that the relevant standard operating procedures are adhered to in relation to planning, delivery and completion of technical disrepairs and specialist works. This could include structural damp, building defects and damp mould and condensation.
- To establish new and innovative ways of engaging with tenants in relation to disrepair.
