**Role Overview**:
You will provide holistic person-centred support to individuals, ensuring their dignity, privacy, and preferences are always respected. As a key player in our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting individuals in their daily activities, which may include meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication management, and household tasks.
- Acting as an advocate for individuals, helping them access appropriate services, resources, and opportunities within the community to promote their well-being.
- Employing effective de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to provide immediate support during challenging situations.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of individual care plans, regularly evaluating progress and making necessary adjustments to ensure the best outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of interactions, observations, and care provided, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
- This position is situated in Reading and easily accessible through major public transportation routes. The work schedule includes shifts from 8:00am to 4:00pm, 4:00pm to 10:00pm, and 10:00pm to 8:00am.
**Mental Health Support Worker Requirements**:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mental Health Support (essential)
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
- Driving license (desirable)
- Diploma in higher education (desirable)
- Satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Demonstrate willingness and capability to work various shift patterns, including weekends and public holidays, and participate in the company's on-call system
