**Production Team Leader - Retford - £25-27k per annum**

Reporting into the Product Group Manager, primary responsibility for this role rests with overseeing the department on a day-to-day basis to achieve all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Working with the PGM you should take responsibility of the department in terms of Management of staff and ensuring that all direct reports are always working safely and enforcing the wearing of PPE.
- Reporting and investigating accidents
- Identifying and eliminating hazards and encouraging team members to report hazards and near misses as they occur.
- Ensuring all prestart up machine checks are completed and filed whilst reporting any issues that are unsafe to the manufacturing or maintenance managers.
- To support the PGM in ensuring the products that are being produced are in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures and follow up on customer complaints to ensure optimum quality is achieved at all times by identifying the route cause and implementing actions to eliminate future occurrences.
- In the absence of the PGM, manage, develop, and motivate staff within the department of control and lead them by example. Be the role model by setting standards and expectations of the team in line with the Companies objectives, goals, strategies, and measures.

Monitoring and reducing scrap at all times to drive down cost and improve yield and company profits.
- Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance and general issues that impact upon efficiency of the department with regards to the 4 M’s (Man, Machine, Material and Method).
- Update daily trackers and information boards with previous 24 hours results ready for the morning team meeting and deliver the results to management for the set Key Performance Indicators, Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
- Participate in CI activities
- Driving out the 7 wastes associated with production by identifying what they are and creating action plans to reduce or eliminate them.
- Control of costs associated with Labor by always keeping overtime and manning levels to a minimum. (Labor utilization)
- Ensuring that all materials are used on a First in First out basis to reduce obsolete stock and keep control of where any issues may be with quality. Materials handling, control, and stock rotation to maintain FIFO
- Completing stock takes and ensuring that there is enough stock available of raw materials to satisfy customer orders.
- Reviewing on coming orders and agreeing dates with the production planner.
- Monitoring products through the departments and acting accordingly to ensure delivery dates are met and communicating progress daily with planning to ensure issues that may cause late delivery are fed back to the customer in good time.
- Driving the departments 5’s score and engaging the team to achieve the target.
- Ensuring housekeeping standards are met or exceeded at all times.
- Encourage ideas from the team to make things better, more efficient and cost effective while working smarter and not harder.
- Improving processes and methods to become more efficient such as rapid changeovers
- Increasing both people and machine utilization to increase capacity.
- Deputizing for the PGM and in their absence carrying out any additional duties that are associated with their role
- Making sound decisions based on all available information
- Manage any employee related issues with support from HR and highlighting any staff performance issues for the shift

The ability to work across 3/4shift in times of need
- Previous experience in a Supervisory/Team Leader role within a manufacturing / production environment
- Experience of delivering on KPI’s
- Experience with training staff would be beneficial
- Ability to lead and motivate a team

Involvement in change initiatives and projects with a view to continual improvement is desirable

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£27,500.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- No weekends
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus scheme

- Retford, DN22 7EQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Salary**: From £10.30 per hour
