**What’s involved in the role?**
Primarily customer facing your days will be spent helping with a wide variety of different enquiries including:
- Jewellery & watch sales
- Repairs and restorations
- Bespoke commissions
- Buying jewellery & watches for our pre-owned collections
Between customers there are always lots of jobs to do such as:
- Placing jewellery orders
- Merchandising displays
- Pricing and preparing new stock for sale
- Jewellery photography
- Maintaining the PA Jewellery website and other online platforms
- When there’s a quiet moment, make yourself a tea
Thanks to the diversity of what we do no two days are the same; you need to be flexible in how you approach each customer and each day. As a comparatively small team we all get involved and take on all of the odd jobs needed to keep a business running smoothly.
We promote individuality and want everyone to be the best version of themselves. You will be encouraged to fully embrace your role and make it your own. While every member of our team needs to be an all-rounder, once established we anticipate some specialisation in areas of particular interest such as gemmology, watches, valuations or buying and will support that with training and funding education. Once sufficiently experienced you will be largely self-managing whilst still being supported by your colleagues and the senior management where necessary.
**Employee ownership.**
PA Jewellery is majority owned by its employees, via an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). After a qualifying period all employees benefit from this ownership, receiving a share of the company’s profits as well as having a greater than usual part in the shaping of its future. More than half of our current team have been with PA Jewellery for over 15 years and we like to think this is a result of what a great place it is to work PA Jewellery is its employees and we want people who are looking for a career in jewellery rather than ”just” a job.
**The Package.**
Salary is individually negotiated depending on experience and what you can bring to the role. We pay at least the national living wage.
Profit related bonus paid in December with further benefits on joining the EOT after a 12 month qualifying period.
33 days holiday including bank holidays.
PA Jewellery opens 6 days per week for most of the year, closed Sundays except in December. Your working week will include Saturday with a regular weekday and most Sundays off.
