An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified professional to join the Bristol Therapeutic Support Service as a Practice Lead.

Our service provides a range of therapeutic support as well as consultation and training for staff and carers with the overarching goal of promoting and achieving stability for children in care. This post will work as part of the management team within our service leading, supervising and developing practice, delivering training to staff and carers as well as consulting to our children’s homes. There will also be opportunity to maintain clinical skills through direct work with children and carers.

As practice lead you could take the lead in one of the following areas / teams.

**Short-term service
The short-term team is a well-regarded and established team of therapeutic support practitioners and skills coaches. This team provide a quick response when there is an immediate risk to stability offering a range of interventions including 1:1 support for children, family work and carer consultation. You will lead the practice in the team, managing and supervising staff, taking on direct work for complex referrals and have a role in wider activity in relation to stability for children in care across children’s services.

**Intensive Support**

The intensive support team works with a small number of children with complex needs who are at high risk of instability providing intensive therapeutic support to them and their carers. You will undertake thorough assessments of the children’s needs and provide substantial support to them and their carers, lead the practice in the team, managing and supervising staff and engage in wider activity in relation to stability for children in care with complex needs.
