We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a team at a vibrant secondary school in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. This role is ideal for individuals who are looking to gain experience in the education sector and make a positive impact on students' learning journeys.

**What should you expect in the role?**

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the school day by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students in their learning. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and develop your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

**What are my key responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor?**
- **Classroom Management**: Supervise and manage students in the classroom, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
- **Lesson Delivery**: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and resources provided by the absent teacher.
- **Student Support**: Assist students with their work, providing guidance and support to help them understand and complete tasks.
- **Behavior Management**: Implement the school's behaviour policy, maintaining discipline and managing behavior in the classroom.
- **Communication**: Liaise with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning and report any issues or concerns.

**What is required of me?**
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively.
- Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
- A positive attitude and a passion for education.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
