**About The Role**

The Senior Copywriter is responsible for creating compelling promotional copy, translating data into engaging storytelling using powerful ideas and concepts. They ‘own’ the science and work closely with Art Directors, Designers and User Experience specialists to create content and messaging that is highly engaging, affective, and memorable. They will be comfortable interpreting medical data and pulling out information relevant to the target audience and campaign objectives, and will be expected to consistently demonstrate excellent copywriting and conceptual abilities. They will set high standards of quality and accuracy and help mentor and develop others.

The Senior Copywriter will lead copy on several accounts, adjusting to different client styles and project type, and show good commercial understanding. They will be skilled in solving difficult copywriting challenges and successfully negotiating client feedback.

**What You'll Do**:

- Writing compelling promotional and non-promotional copy that is scientifically robust across a range of media for a variety of target audiences
- Providing evidence-based scientific expertise and counsel in relevant therapy areas
- Turning complex science into compelling ideas and stories through concepts and brand narratives and pushing commercial messages as far as possible within the scientific framework
- Working with a Designer or an Art Director to create appropriate communication concepts that are creatively strong, on brief, on brand, and on target.
- Presenting and explaining creative ideas, demonstrating how the work embodies the strategy and answers the brief.
- Working with feedback, and confidently pushing back where appropriate
- Researching product or disease area as required, and keeping abreast of competitor activity
- Building relationships with key clients, instilling confidence with professionalism and knowledge

**About You**:

- Develop creative concepts to a high standard and consistently produce impactful commercial copy through advanced use of vocabulary, cadence, storytelling, and persuasion
- Successfully act as lead writer for several accounts/projects
- Show exceptional attention to detail: spelling, punctuation, grammar, facts, and accurate referencing
- Be able to mentor junior copywriters
- Proactively advise the project team on project approach to achieve high quality, high-impact pieces of communication
- Inspire others through attitude and quality of work and build good rapport with colleagues
- Show professional resilience, even in frustrating circumstances - able to start again on projects if necessary, with as much enthusiasm as the first time
- Shows a good understanding of the commercial realities of our work and an appreciation of how to produce high quality within tight deadlines and budgets.
