At Rockwater, as Head Host, your role will be to ensure that all guests receive a brilliant welcome and are cared for immediately upon entering Rockwater. This will be done through ensuring all hosts are trained, prepared and equipped to do so, as well as working with the reservations team to ensure all bookings are accommodated to the highest standard.

- Ensure that every guest that enters Rockwater receives a warm and genuine welcome.
- Ensure that all host/esses are properly trained on Seven Rooms and are inputting all covers correctly and reading and actioning all booking notes.
- Monitor par levels of all menus and ensure we always have enough in stock, bearing in mind any upcoming menu changes to avoid wastage.
- Monitor amount of “Occasion” cards, crayons and polaroid camera film and ensure we always have enough in stock.
- Regularly check the weekly bookings and liaise with the reservations team if guests need to be contacted (e.g we cannot fulfil a request) prior to them entering Rockwater.
- Report any common guest confusions around bookings to the General Manager.
- Ensure host telephones are charged and monitored during opening hours.
- To write host rotas based on business needs to ensure there are adequate hosts around the building.
- Provide feedback and coaching to all of the hosting team to ensure they are up to date with Rockwater SOPs and are delivering them at all times, both on the go and through regular team meetings.
- Ensure new host/esses are fully trained and integrated into the Rockwater team.
- To lead by example and to be presentable and to represent the Rockwater brand to the highest standard and to expect the same of your team. - To have an extensive understanding of Rockwater and the various experiences we offer our guests, including our Openwater subscription.
- Deal with guest reservations accordingly, ensuring that covers are distributed evenly between sections and that capacity is maximized.
- Ensure that our members tables are available at all times should they be needed.
- Be aware of who our Rockwater members, regulars, and VIPs are and greet them accordingly.
- Assist the Openwater Manager in ensuring there are up to date photos of members on our PeopleVine portal.
- Compliance with legal requirements under the Health & Safety Act 1974 and food hygiene.
- To always be presentable and to represent the Rockwater brand to the highest standard.
- Ensure to follow up any guidance or instructions given to you by management (i.e overall restaurant cleaning). - To assist where required throughout Rockwater according to business needs.
- Always bring your best self to work and have a “can do” attitude with a smile. Be on a 10.
- Be able to multi-task. - Work well under pressure - Keep composure and be presentable at all times
- Understand the customer; who they are, their expectations and how to effectively manage them to create the best experience and ensure repeat custom.
- Fully understand how their role contributes towards the success of Rockwater.
- Have a good level of understanding of Rockwater and the products and experiences we provide.
- Spot opportunities to make Rockwater more efficient.
- Be uncompromising in achieving company standards.
- Communicate with guests in a professional, friendly and appropriate manner.
- Be able to adapt style when dealing with all kinds of people in a wide range of situations.
- Quick rapport building with team and guests.
- Build effective and constructive relationships and be able to work together to achieve goals.
- Be able to make quick decisions, sometimes with incomplete information and under pressure
