**Job Summary**

To manage team-related shopfloor activities with the aim of producing and despatching goods within production schedules and targets, and within budgeted costs when applicable.

To maintain quality standards on the shopfloor in accordance with the company's quality system.

To ensure that shopfloor personnel carry out their tasks in a safe manner, in accordance with their job descriptions and to company health and safety policy and procedures; and that they have the appropriate level of skill for the task that they are performing.

Overall responsibility for workspace and workstations within this area. This includes ensuring good upkeep of machines, tools & associated lifting/measuring equipment and maintenance of 5S standard working conditions. In addition, responsibility for the work carried out within this area during overtime.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- For the team:

- Provide direction.

- Maintain and monitor good timekeeping.
- Maintain clean working conditions.
- Carry out day to day upkeep of machinery and tools. Check equipment for leaks on a regular and frequent basis.
- Liaise with maintenance team to repair equipment as necessary.
- Ensure that production documents are available at workstations.
- Apportion work and ensure efficient continuity of production.
- List availability for overtime when available.
- Approve holidays for your team. Advise Production Manager.
- Be available for nightshift queries.
- Ensure that work is performed in a safe manner.
- Ensure that time and cost budgets (where advised) are upheld.
- Sort out production problems, as required.
- Arrange inspection (liaise with inspector)
- Arrange NOT as necessary, via the Project Manager.
- Procure wire/electrodes and consumables from main stores.
- Identify training needs for both you and your team members.
- Carry out appraisals for your team.
- Review and agree personal development objectives annually with your line manager.
- Carry out production work as necessary.

**Welding**

Setting up components, equipment, and parameters in accordance with WPSs and welding.

Welding to drawing/WPS and Process Plan requirements

**Fabrication**

Reading drawings.

Setting up and tacking components to drawing and fabrication requirements.

Cutting, grinding, rolling, and pressing as required to produce the required parts.

**Dimensional measurement**

Checking measurements.

Coaching where appropriate.

**General Responsibilities**:
