**Job summary**:

- This is a graduate scientific position supporting the UKHSA AMR Programme in facilitating the Programme’s strategic and scientific activities. The AMR Programme Officer (Knowledge Mobilisation) is responsible for providing high quality support in the day to day running of the AMR Programme Office.**Job description**:

- As part of the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Programme Office that supports the SRO, the post holder is responsible for designing, establishing and maintaining communications between workstreams and projects of the programme; interfaces between the programme and other business systems; and managing and providing information about programme documentation.
- Updating and maintaining the Programme plan, and risk and issues registers, producing reports on AMR progress against deliverables as required by the Programme Manager for use by senior management including the Chief Executive and Directors, Parliamentary Office and the Department of Health and Social Care.
- Provide project management and scientific support to the 2020-2025 HPRUs, focusing on knowledge mobilisation.
- Providing project management and scientific secretariat to the UKHSA AMR Programme Forum and Steering Group.
- Deputise for the Programme Manager where appropriate
- Developing, maintaining and updating protocols, procedures and guidance notes for programme activities and monitoring/evaluating their use. Support colleagues within the programme by developing, documenting and maintaining standard operational procedures relating to programme and business functions, ensuring procedures are accurate and up-to-date.
- Create and maintain programme documents including the Quality & Assurance; Stakeholder Engagement; Information Management; Benefits Management; Resource Management; and Monitoring & Control strategies, and their related plans.
- The post holder may be required to undertake project management roles on an ad hoc basis providing expert advice and guidance to staff working on project delivery.
- Plan and deliver specific project support to UKHSA colleagues under supervision of Programme manager as required.
- To ensure that compliance with Information Governance requirements and develop own knowledge in this area as relevant to function(s).
- Maintain effective records of programme resources to meet the needs of internal and external audit.
- Work with the Programme Manager to coordinate all aspects of the budget; coordinating budget planning and forecasting and raising requisitions for Programme.

**Knowledge and experience**:

- Experience of managing priorities in a diverse and dynamic organisation and of conducting work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Appreciation and understanding of the public health / public sector and awareness of international and global AMR issues
- Experience in communications and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of programme management and/or health information systems development

Desirable criteria
- Awareness of UK government departments, intergovernmental organisations and devolved administrations involved in AMR activities and generally of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
- Previous experience in similar role in public sector and with UK government departments

**Skills and capabilities**:
Essential criteria
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, in particular scientific report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences, showing attention to detail combined with the ability to extract key messages from complex scientific analysis
- Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands, taking decisions on difficult and contentious issues where they may be a number of courses of action.
