**Job Title**: Sewing Machinist

**Responsible To**: Workroom Supervisor

**Description**:To make garments from cut work within a busy workroom environment, using a variety of sewing machines

**ROLE**

**Main Responsibilities include**:

- Sewing garments
- Hand sewing (basic)
- Preparing machine by changing needles and thread; securing attachments
- Braiding
- Using other types of machines (for example)

Basting

Zig-Zag

Blind Hemmer

Overlocker

Button Hole Machine

Pressing Equipment
- Maintains quality by inspecting finished product/ work
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, business code of ethics and other company requirements
- Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required

**Liaison**:

- Liaise with cutting department on business related matters as required.
- Demonstrate an ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

**KPIs**:
Monthly efficiencies in maintaining and processing workload to achieve targets. Maintaining a good efficient and effective relationships with both colleagues and customers

**Experience**:

- Experience in a similar role, which demonstrates practical and interpersonal skills
- Apprenticeship would be considered

**Aptitudes**:

- Excellent verbal and good basic standard of written communication skills
- Understanding of garment construction
- Competency in understanding garment specifications
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- A solid understanding of cloths and braids
- Good organisational skills
- Sound numeracy and basic computer literacy
- Able to work systematically and use own initiative
- A commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must demonstrate a strong sense of customer focus
- Results/task orientated
- Excellent time management

**Salary**: From £18,772.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Harwich: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Machinist: 1 year (preferred)
