Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9.30am - 6pm with an hour unpaid lunchbreak each day, Mondays to Fridays
Fixed Term Contract until April 2024 initially

After 40 years of iconic films and series, Aardman is making games-great games. You’ll be joining a world-class team of game industry veterans working on exciting new cross-platform games and other interactive experiences.

The projects:
We’re working with a major publisher on a new project based on one our best loved IPs. Even when working with IPs, our number one priority is always to create games that are inventive, creative and unique in their own right - so that people who have never heard of the characters would still want to play it.

Our new project is a real-time stealth game. It takes the strategic, tense, fun of stealth games and blends it with frenetic, chaotic, mechanics to create a unique player experience. It’s launching on mobile first, followed closely by PC and consoles.

We also have other smaller games and interactive projects in production, including augmented reality apps, virtual reality experiences, Roblox games, and other educational and creative apps.

**About You**:
QA is an important part of game development, and at Aardman it forms a part of how we check and balance the design of the game. As such, you’ll be integrated in to both the Game Design and Engineering teams.

You’ll be responsible for the management of effective QA processes and systems, thoroughly testing our projects across all platforms. You’ll prepare and implement robust test plans, and be aware of platform requirements and plan for them. You’ll be accurately and helpfully documenting and prioritising any issues found in our bug tracking system, and effectively communicating issues with producers and engineering
- constructively working with the team to solve issues.

Alongside your own testing, you’ll work with external testing vendors to manage and coordinate large scale testing across devices, and manage the ingress and lifecycle of bugs into our tracking system.

You’ll also help with the build process, working with Engineering to ensure builds are rolled out regularly to all stakeholders, and that feedback, stats, and bugs from these builds are tracked accurately. You’ll keep an eye on automated reporting processes for performance, and work with the Technical Art and Engineering team to ensure performance is always as good as it can be.

You’ll also be involved with the player testing process, helping to set up and execute sessions, and ensure that bugs and issues are recorded in the tracking software.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining our library of testing devices, ensuring they are fully functional and available to developers and testing sessions as required.

- Experience of working in games production, ideally in a QA/testing role.
- Good knowledge and understanding of current, legacy and upcoming games consoles, operating systems, mobile platforms, and emerging virtual reality platforms is preferred.
- Experience with issue-tracking software.
- Solid understanding of accessibility and user-experience issues in games and software. **Desired**:

- Experience with Unreal engine.
- Experience with Unity.
- Experience of version control.
- Experience with automated testing tools.
