**Responsible To **The Strategic Mentoring Lead will provide coordination/oversight of virtual Mentor team. Post will be line managed by employing school.

**Responsible For **N/A

**Job Purpose**: To be part of the work being driven by the Leeds SAFE Taskforce in mentoring and supporting young people at risk of involvement in violence to re-engage with education.

**Responsibilities**:
Work with academy to effectively identify the cohort to be worked with, in line with identified indicators - as dictated by the programme.

Lead, organise and contribute to 1:1 mentoring support for the identified cohort of children and young people around the key qualifying characteristics of the Leeds SAFE Taskforce programme, to support raising attendance and engagement in learning opportunities

Work restoratively with other agencies to contribute to the delivery of bespoke programmes of support for children and young people based on their individual needs

Engage in the co-ordination of any external support required in the bespoke planning for identified mentees.

Individually manage and monitor the caseloads of young people identified in your allocated cohort.

Ensure that all requirements around the recording of relevant actions, activities and outcomes are maintained.

Contribute to the assessment of your identified cohort's needs, planning and coordinating appropriate and effective support where required.

Act as a reflective practitioner, evaluating individual performance, informing strategy and improving ways of working

Participate in Early Help Plans or any other appropriate interventions for the identified cohort as required.

Work in conjunction with the Strategic Mentoring Lead to ensure all aspects of the SAFE Taskforce assessment criteria are achieved.

Undertake home visits, where required, to provide support and advice for young people and their families/carers.

Promote effective, communication and information sharing with key professionals and families whilst working within the framework of the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.

Ensure that The Refreshed 3As Plan is embedded in action and practice.

Flexible and adaptable to change to assist other services as required commensurate to grade

Participate in appraisal, training and development activities as necessary to ensure up to date knowledge and skillsImprove own practice through observation, evaluation, discussion with colleagues and development programmes.

To work collaboratively with colleagues, knowing when to seek help and advice.

Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the service by attending relevant meetings, training days/events as requested.

Be aware of and comply with the requirements of all policies and procedures e.g. child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person

Be aware of and support difference and ensure equality for all working in an anti-discriminatory manner, upholding and promoting the values, standards and equal opportunities.

Qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge gained through work related experience is essential

Able to utilise appropriate IT and communication technology to ensure a prompt and efficient service

Able to communicate appropriately and effectively with a wide range of people through a variety of different methods, including sensitive and complex information

Able to work effectively as part of a team and to demonstrate organisational and time management skills prioritising own and team’s work to meet conflicting deadlines

Evidence of the ability to build strong relationships

Ability to translate legislation into accessible formats for a wide range of stakeholders

Ability to interpret data to inform service delivery

Able to use initiative to develop solutions to day to day issues and problems
