**VACANCY - INDUSTRIAL CHEMIST**
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and proactive individual to take on a role within a successful chemical manufacturing Company, with over 60 years of chemical manufacturing heritage and an established reputation for excellence. The companyis focused on providing the best contract manufacturing and site services to customers in the agrochemical, fine and specialty chemical industries. Based in, Norfolk, the company is a leading large scale chemical company delivering customers’ needs utilisingits broad asset and technology base underpinned by its quality driven project management.
They currently have a full-time vacancy for an industrial chemist to join the Operations team in the role of Technical Specialist.
Reporting to the Production Unit Leader, the main responsibilities of the role are:
To provide technical chemistry and industrial processing expertise with a problem solving and troubleshooting service to the Operations organisation.
To propose and validate process improvements and to provide expert technical input into the design and development of new and existing plant, processes or products.
To audit plant performance standards of Safety, Environment, Quality, Reliability, Capacity and Cost.
Working within a Plant Performance team, support and give technical guidance to the plant technical manager and engineering support team.
Daily contact with Operations personnel, communicating and influencing to provide the technical support for the operation and optimisation of processes.
To undertake all necessary laboratory & investigative studies & evaluations to support existing and future new manufacturing
**Qualifications / Experience**
A chemistry degree, or higher.
Experience in the technology, operation, and systems of industrial chemical manufacture.
Experience of chemical plant control systems is preferred.
Experience of new process industrialisation would be beneficial.
Experience of Lean/Six Sigma would be beneficial.
This role will be most suited to someone with a few years’ industrial experience, ready to take on a challenging & varied technical role.
