Senior Procurement Officer

If so, we should talk - Koura, an Orbia business and part of the Fluorinated Solutions group, is hiring a Senior Procurement Officer based in Thornton Science Park, Chester.

This is a 15-month maternity cover and will be responsible for delivering the procurement function across the company’s operations in the UK and EU, providing a value-adding, effective and efficient service to internal customers across Rocksavage, Thornton, Heath and any other sites as needed.

You will be required to support the delivery of business strategy and objectives through cost effective procurement of raw materials, goods, spares, and services whilst complying with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for direct line management of a Procurement Officer.

**You’ll bring to the table**:
CIPS qualified (ideal but not essential)

Experience of indirect procurement of engineering goods & services would be ideal

In depth knowledge and experience of contracts, and contractual relationships, including purchasing terms and conditions.

In depth knowledge of supplier selection strategies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to develop relationships across a range of stakeholders

Strong IT Skills, experience of purchasing systems, including SAP, and Microsoft office packages, with particular expertise using Excel.

In depth experience of delivering in a Senior Procurement Officer, or equivalent, role.

Experience of mentoring and managing people

In depth understanding of commercial and purchasing systems and procedures.

A working knowledge of Supplier and Contractor Management

Strong negotiation skills
