**JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE**: MEDICAL REFERRAL ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER HOURS: 28 hours per week Job summary: To provide a high standard of general secretarial and administrative support; including audio typing and administrative tasks, to the Practice Manager, leadership team, doctors and health care professionals. Always acting in a professional, efficient and courteous manner to patients, staff and visitors. Job responsibilities: To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals (using the e-referral system) in an accurate and qualitative manner (word count approx.

To maintain the computer clinical system accurately and securely, in line with confidentiality procedures. To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required. To assist with the preparation and review of work-related protocols and ensure adherence. To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.

To support colleagues with training and keep informed of local and government updates. To participate in training events. In liaison with the admin team, maintain adequate supplies of office stationery in order to perform secretarial duties. To receive and dispatch mail; internal and hand delivered.
