You will be working in a community setting providing foot care, foot health education and individualised care programs as directed by a Podiatrist for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs.

You will assess foot risk status and provide nail care as required for a delegated caseload, providing support to the podiatrist providing specialised care such as wound management, nail surgery, shockwave therapy, also supporting with ordering of stock and other administrative tasks.

You should have a good standard of general education and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience of working in a caring role would be beneficial however on the job training will be provided to enable you to fulfil the requirements of this role.

What is Staff Bank?

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Undertake Clinical programmes of Podiatry care as delegated by a podiatrist.

Follow assessment protocols for all patients prior to treatment, to identify any changes in status, and referring to podiatrists for advice / support where appropriate.

Deliver care in a variety of settings including clinics and community hospitals.

Assist podiatrists in a variety of specialised clinics which may include assisting with nail surgery and dressings, shockwave therapy, neurovascular assessments and nail care.

Promotion of foot health advice to patients, carers, representative groups and other interested parties.

Maintain appropriate treatment records.

Participate in audit of service standards.

Stock ordering and other administrative duties.

Work to Nationally and Locally defined standards.

Any other duties required which are relevant to the post.
