Our client is a global leader in the Steel Manufacturing industry, the role will be working alongside a growing team of engineers within their Sheffield facility.

Purpose of the role is to repair, maintain a variety of press tooling and fixtures to the appropriate standard in order to maximise availability, maintain product quality, meet customer requirements, and satisfy the demands of the manufacturing facility.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure sufficient work effort is applied to achieve targets/set workload is completed within the given timescale.
- Repair and maintain jigs to a high standard.
- Ensure tools are scheduled to meet production requirements.
- Competently operate a range of metal removal equipment including conventional & CNC milling machines [HAAS], lathes, surface grinders & drills.. Accurately use a range of equipment to carry out a range of bench/tool fitting.
- Maintenance an adequate supply of tooling spares & consumables/materials.
- To assist in production & maintenance requirements where general machining is necessary.
- Ensure all equipment/work tooling is kept in a good state of repair. Any maintenance issues should be promptly reported to the supervisor.
- Provide regular feedback to supervisor regarding status of work carried out.
- Undertake a variety of jobs, in some cases with limited instruction or information from the customer.
- Knowledge and experience using micrometres, depth micrometres & gauges.
- Machine husbandry.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE**
- Ideally apprentice trained in mechanical engineering
- Press shop experience - desirable.
- Skilled with CNC milling

**SKILLS**
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Ability to maintain a high level of discipline associated with the daily compliance of hygiene standards and the safe operation of factory equipment
