With more than 60 years’ experience in the sector, is a horticulture wholesale nursery producing over 2.2 million shrubs, herbaceous and perennial plants per year across their production sites. They have now grown to become one of the leading suppliers tothe British landscaping industry. The company is known for its forward-thinking ethos which has allowed them to stay ahead of landscape fashions and trends and become pioneers in plant health management and environmental expertise. Their clients include awide range of commercial and domestic customers including landscape architects and designers, local authorities, housing projects and nurseries. They are now seeking a skilled hands-on Horticulturalist to manage their 7-acre site near Coventry.

This is a unique opportunity for the right person to manage and oversee day-to-day operations throughout the site. Although reporting to the Production Director and having the full support of the senior management team, As Site Manager you will need to operatein a self-contained manner. Key responsibilities will include:

- To produce crops to a high quality, fulfilling the cultural requirements of the crop to maintain saleability.
- To implement good nursery housekeeping and hygiene procedures.
- To oversee the potting operation, maintaining high standards in both plant quality and efficient safworking practises.
- Ensure the plant centre displays are maintained to retail standards and replenished according to merchandising plan.
- Ensure appropriate plant selection to fulfil both customer and bulk orders.
- To manage, motivate and develop the team across both Plant Centre and Production Site.
- Ensure the Health & Safety of the site and all its operations, following company policies and procedures.
- Provide regular and comprehensive feedback to line manager.
- Liaison with the main site team to ensure smooth logístical operations.
- An experienced grower of hardy nursery stock.
- Experience of managing a team of people
- Ability to turn hand to anything.
- Enthusiastic, practical, and driven to succeed.
- A team player.
- Good organisational and IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable in a customer facing role.
- Full driving licence required.
- Forklift license preferred.
- FEPA qualified.
