**Job Purpose**
The role of the Buying Assistant is to
- To provide a full administrative support to the Packaging/Indirect Procurement function
- Through experience and training take ownership of the sourcing of some areas in compliance with corporate goals

**Working Hours**
Monday - Friday 08.45 until 17.00 including hybrid working (x2 days a week in the office and x3 days a week working from home - Monday is an anchor day)

**Dimensions**
- Operating within the Princes Procurement (Packaging & Indirect) team
- Internal contacts - Commercial, Sales, Finance, Corporate Relations, Operations, Planning, Technical
- External contacts - Suppliers
- Role is based in RLB, Liverpool and may require some adhoc travel to Princes sites and supplier facilities

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Compile required data from SAP & utilise this in assisting the wider buying team in updating annual business strategies.
- Management of contracts and Purchase Info Records (PIRs) onto SAP. Assisting in the management of supplier contracts and maintenance of contract balances based on forecasts, promotional activities and product de-lists.
- Management of eSRM and resolution of invoice queries.
- Maintain accurate maintenance of master data. This includes certain parts of the Material Masters, Product groups and other areas deemed appropriate to the smooth running of purchasing activities. Maintain purchasing data bases to ensure other departments have prompt accurate information. Review generated reports for control and purchasing decisions.
- Reporting of currency tracker and cost savings monitors.
- Participation in project teams to ensure that the materials procured conform to all requirements and the potential of cost saving benefits are maximised by the company.
- Creation of supplier in the SAP Ariba system
- Assist in ensuring that the best information is obtained from suppliers with regard to market trends, pricing fluctuations and forecasts so that the Princes organisation has the latest information in the markets we operate in.
- Assist in researching and developing sources of supply and ensure that tender processes utilise all available technology to optimise commercial benefits of new agreements.
- Periodically review product knowledge presentations relevant to the business area & complete any required updates.

**Experience Needed**
- Previous administration experience within Sales/Supply Chain/ Procurement would be transferable
- Ideally SAP & SAP Ariba experience however we would consider other systems experience
- Strong systems experience and competent within IT
- Good analytical skills
- Numerate
- Good commercial awareness.
- Strong communication & team working skills.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical, structured approach.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong administration experience.
