Employing 6,000 people within the UK & Ireland, we are the prominent supplier of new trains and train services, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider. Alstom have built, or are building, just under 40% of the UK mainline train fleet, as well as the entire fleets in service with London Underground and Dublin Luas.

**Purpose of the job**

In this position, you will be responsible for all Direct Sourcing commodities in a production environment and support projects and sales for your commodities.

As a core member in the organization you will develop a wide Network in UK and with an international team across Europe including, Commodity Managers, Suppliers, work package owners, Engineering department, Product sales, Supply chain.

**Responsibilities**

Within this role, your main tasks are:

- Data maintenance of Sourcing tools (SAP purchasing info records, SOL, ALTeS, eProcurement, ASIP)
- Manage operational needs for Radlett site on following commodities:

- PCB Assembly
- Electronic components
- Electrical integrator subcontract
- Sheet metal works
- Cable assembly
- Server and data center
- Production consumables
- Strong involvement in local implementation of Alstom Sourcing strategies
- Manage suppliers according to Global Sourcing strategies and local needs
- Operational Sourcing responsibility on business awards, suppliers relationship, performance follow-up

**Operational involvement**:

- Drive cost savings on the Commodities portfolio
- Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
- Manage Demand management
- Operational sourcing responsibility on RFQ, negotiation, business awards and contracting
- In collaboration with Commodity Managers, local implementation of Global strategies according to local stakes
- Maintain SAP purchasing info records

**Supplier relationship**:

- Supplier financial analysis
- Secure contractual coverage (Frame agreements, Specific Agreement, local Agreement, Price list)
- Ensure global QCDT targets achievement & claims management
- Lead supplier QCDT performance reviews
- Respect Alstom’s guidelines

**Measurement**
- Savings against budget
- E-Sourcing tool usage
- SD Charter and EHS charter coverage
- Spend covered by contract - Contractual coverage
- Number of Supplier Review
- Supplier in Time delivery / Non Quality Event

Others:

- The role also includes to travel in UK to attend meeting with stakeholders as well as suppliers
- Comply with and undertake all relevant Environment, Health & Safety measures and activities

**Essential Requirements**
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or business or similar certification in procurement - relevant experience will also be considered
- Previous experience working in a sourcing or procurement environment
- Good level in MS office
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding on contract terms
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle
- Fluent speaking, reading and writing in English
- Team player
- Results oriented

- Interpersonal skills
- Transparency
- High work ethics

**Desirable**:

- Achieved certification in procurement / Commercial management
- Fluent in other languages
- Technical knowledge in Signalling Systems
- Experience in railway industry in UK or the rest of the world
