RECRUITMENTiQ is working with one of Scotland’s largest independent Builders Merchants to assist with their recruitment of a full-time Sales Advisor (Trade Centre) for their Kirkintilloch branch.

Our client has been providing quality building materials to the trade and DIY enthusiasts for 40 years and stocks everything you need for any construction project - from foundations to finishing touches, across Central Scotland.

**The Role**

Sales Advisor work is predominantly 'face to face' with a mix of trade and retail customers in our large Trade Centre (which includes a Trade Counter, Home Improvement Showroom, and Landscape Centre).

**Key Accountabilities**
- Providing, fast and friendly service and advice to customers
- Handling customer's enquiries and orders
- Preparing and following up on customer quotations
- Accurate order processing and payment collection via your own till and desk
- Greeting customers and engaging with them and their projects to generate new customer accounts and develop existing ones
- Dealing with enquiries for stock items as well as liaising with suppliers for special order items
- Some merchandising, stock replenishment & general housekeeping within the shop area are occasionally required.

**Skills and Experience**
- Building, timber & landscape materials knowledge ideally with at least 2 years experience of working in a similar merchant role
- Knowledge and experience with computers and EPOS systems
- Excellent communication and sales skills with a positive, helpful attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and multi-task.
