A proactive business partner, responsible for providing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting for effective business decision support. This role has to be responsive to change, proactively anticipating data, insights and analytics to help business to make the right data driven decisions.

The position reports the VP Corporate Finance and provides financial support to the Senior Leadership team of L&P (including the global CEO, global CFO, global HR, global Legal and global Strategy/Bus Dev). The position has 4 direct reports.

Accountabilities:

- Ownership of all group reporting, planning and analysis requirements for L&P. This includes setting requirements, timetables etc for monthly reports, budget and reforecasts, operating plan and other reporting required by RELX such as acquisition and investment reviews
- Create consolidated financial reports for L&P to support the senior leadership team in their review of financial information.
- Provide insightful commentary on the consolidated financial information to assist the senior leadership team in their decision making.
- Be a decision support partner to the senior leadership team of L&P
- Provide functional cost support specifically for Finance, HR and legal functions
- Delivery to RELX of all forecasting information in relation to L&P
- Coordinate with Global Decision Support teams and Global Shared Services and GRPA to ensure that financial information is in compliance with RELX and LN global finance guidance / definitions and is reported on a consistent basis.
- Reporting and financial planning in relation to Corporate costs
- Maintain proper records and ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place and effective, specifically in relation to the review and analysis of consolidated financial information.
- Provide analysis and evaluation of Cost drivers and cost actions (investments and cost reduction programs) and ensure that the process for reporting on these drivers is effectively implemented by the global finance teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience;
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required; MBA and/or certifications, i.e. CMA, CFA or CPA preferred or equivalent
- Requires 7+ years demonstrated successful and progressive career with relevant financial experience
- Business skills: strategic capability and business acumen. Good internal and external business knowledge.
- Financial skills: financial technical accounting standards and management accounting techniques. Robust knowledge of financial life cycle and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people to get results through others, including coaching, developing direct reports and handling performance issues. Building teams
- Consistent ability to set and deliver against a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure strong quality controls built in to all aspects of reporting
- Experience in achieving results on an international stage, with appreciation of differences in cultural and legal frameworks.
