Summary of Duties

The Kitchen Porter is an essential member of the kitchen team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. This role supports the kitchen staff by assisting with dishwashing, cleaning, and basic food preparation tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key accountabilities
- Dishwashing: wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils rinsing and then placing in an industrial washer. Ensure all items are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized.
- Kitchen cleaning: clean kitchen surfaces, equipment and appliances on a regular basis. This includes countertops, stove tops, frills, ovens and refrigerators. Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy at all times.
- Bins: removal of bins
- food, recycling, waste following the correct procedures. Maintain clean bin and storage areas and ensure that bins are properly lined.
- Basic food Preparation: support kitchen staff during busy periods by helping with food preparation, plating and other tasks needed. Work collaboratively with chefs and front of house staff to ensure high standards of service.
- Health, Safety and Food: Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate protective clothing and footwear.

Essential Criteria
- Must have held the position of Kitchen Porter for a minimum of 2 years
- Must have a friendly and collaborative approach
- Must be able to demonstrate high levels of cleanliness and
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen staff
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
