Catering Assistant

**Job Purpose**
The Catering Assistant, under the direction of the Head Teacher will be responsible for
food preparation and the delivery of the food service at Kingswinford Academy in line
with the schools ethos of achieving high standards is maintained and/or exceeded.

**Reporting to: Catering Manager**
**Responsible for: n/a.**

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Operation**
? To assist in the smooth running of the food service to include assisting in the
preparation and production of hot food, sandwiches, salads, baked goods and all other
food served
? To assist in all aspects of stock control including stock takes and delivery monitoring
? To provide a positive friendly customer service for all pupils, staff and visitors using the
facility
? To assist with all aspects of cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and other food service
areas ensuring that all check-lists are completed.
? To assist in the production of food for special events, theme days and functions
General
? Contribute to the overall ethos/aims of the academy
? Participate in training, other learning activities and performance development as
required.
? Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.

? The post holder is required to be aware of and comply with policies and procedures
relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality
and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
? The post holder has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
and vulnerable adults during the course of their work. This post requires the post holder
to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
