Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Youth Justice Officer to work in Wrexham. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £20.29 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

**The role**:
To assist in achieving the strategic aims of the Wrexham Youth Justice Service through the identification, assessment and provision of services to children and young people at risk of offending or those who are already, by their behaviour, within the criminaljustice system, and aim to reduce reoffending.

To ensure that assessments and interventions are appropriate to the level of risk that the young person presents through good case management

To provide services and support to parents and carers of these young people.

To support the Victims of crime and their families who have experienced financial and or emotional distress as a result of anti-social or criminal behaviour from children and young people & to assess their needs and wishes with regards to the RestorativeJustice process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To undertake comprehensive assessments in a timely manner and ensure that the identified needs of the young people and their families are met, and their risk of re-offending, risk of serious harm to self and others and safety and wellbeing are appropriatelyaddressed by the interventions received.
- To form, develop and maintain professional relationships with children and young people through direct interventions and supervision.
- To gather and interpret information on agreed criteria relating to the child, young person, their family or the victim and to implement subsequent procedures.
- To advise managers or senior colleagues as to any concerns in respect of children/ young people with particular reference to their being at risk of offending, presenting a risk to the public or being at risk themselves from own behaviour or from the abuseof others.
- To develop and maintain working relationships with victims of crime and their families with regards to the restorative justice principles.
- To chair and facilitate Team Around the Child, Referral Panel and strategy meetings
- Undertake Court and bail duties as and when required, including weekends and Bank Holidays on a duty rota basis.
- To provide verbal and written information to evidence assessment and planning of interventions & implement designated actions from agreed plans.
- To produce clear, concise and understandable records, reports and other documentation within the framework of record keeping laid down by the Youth Justice Service.
- To ensure relevant legislation, National Standards and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to and be accountable for all work undertaken.

**Applicant Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:
Degree educated in a related discipline or equivalent level of Youth Justice experience.

**Experience**:2+ years working within a similar role.

**Compliance**:Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.

**Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

**Hours**:37 hours p/w.
