JustPhysio are looking for an MSK Physiotherapist to join our clients team in London.
Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist
Base salary: 35K with additional performance related salary bringing potential to 40-45K
Start ASAP
Full Time post: 40 hours 38 Clinical hours, 2 admin hours, plus unpaid breaks, 5 days a week. Shifts. Some unsociable hours and weekend working required.
Skills & behaviour required for the role:
To act as an autonomous clinician delivering Physiotherapy / Osteopathy to patients by taking personal responsibility for planning and prioritising own patient caseload including appropriate referral to other members of the Multi-disciplinary team. This rolealso requires the clinician to build own case load through appropriate relationship development with referrers including GPs and Orthopods.
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy / Osteopathy degree or equivalent.
- Membership of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) or equivalent MSc (desirable)
- Registrant of the Health and Care Professions Council (Physiotherapists) or General Osteopathic Council (Osteopaths)
- To be able to exercise a professional duty of care in a safe environment.
- Experience in managing a busy musculoskeletal caseload of patients as a first contact practitioner in a private practice environment
- To undertake career-long, self-directed learning.
- To know the professional and personal scope of practice and be able to make appropriate referrals.
- Effective and appropriate skills in communicating information, advice, instruction and professional opinion to colleagues, patients, their relatives and carers.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Clinical
- To act as an autonomous Physiotherapy / Osteopathy Practitioner within a multi
- disciplinary clinic
- To undertake highly specialised, comprehensive neuro-musculoskeletal assessment, interpreting and analysing clinical and non clinical information to form accurate diagnosis and prognoses; reflecting the philosophy of Pure Sports Medicine.
- To utilise expert clinical reasoning and evidence based knowledge when formulating a management plan for each and every patient
- Formulate a management plan for every patient that considers referral to the MDT - Sports Physician, Massage, Podiatry, Strength and Conditioning. This may be an onward transfer of care or inclusive of physiotherapy management.
this knowledge to contribute to the development of the Musculoskeletal service, so that the services comply with and take account of these agendas, policies and guidelines.
2. Professional, Education and Training/Self-Development
Be responsible for maintaining a high standard of physiotherapy / osteopathy practice by working to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) 'Codes of Practice' and maintaining professional and legal accountability.
- To have a knowledge of, and comply with, the legal frameworks relevant to the specialty.
- To be aware and mindful of the boundaries of own practice, and support other members of the team to do the same.
- Be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient notes; and communicating outcomes with the referrer, such a GP or other relevant healthcare professionals.
- To be responsible for maintaining and developing Continued Professional Development (CPD) and maintaining a personal development portfolio. Identify own training and development needs and undertake appropriate training/education as required, supported byregular PDP.
3. Administrative
- To produce timely and detailed clinical reports/letters to GP's, Consultants in secondary and tertiary care and other healthcare professionals.
- To be responsible for maintaining accurate, comprehensive, contemporaneous patient records in line with CSP standards of practice and clinic policy.
- Provide each patient with an exercise program using Physiotec software
- Complete necessary reports for patients PMI providers in order to complete the treatment pathway set out in the management plan
- Organise and manage appropriate delegation of administrative work to the administration staff.
4. Governance, Research and Audit
- Be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance; including ability to audit own and teams practice.
- Lead in clinical governance projects.
- To use specialist knowledge of current evidence to drive to clinical audit and research programmes and to identify sources of funding for research as necessary.
- To promote a research environment within the department through clinical enquiry and offer support and guidance to others.
- To use audit results, current research and government guidelines to recommend changes to service delivery and to clinical practice, demonstrating evidence based links to the development and improvement of clinical practice.
