We are seeking to appoint x6 Subject Specialists who will play a key role in the implementation of the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) incorporating LIMS across the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Network. They will act as the Subject Specialist within their area of expertise and with their specific knowledge of internal Trust systems, will be involved in the decision-making processes for the design and workflow of the new EPR whilst working within broadly defined parameters.

Subject Specialists will be appointed for each of the following disciplines:

- Chemistry & Immunology
- Haematology, Coagulation & Specialist Haematology
- Blood transfusion
- Histopathology
- Microbiology
- Point of Care

The experienced Subject Specialist will be a champion in their own field and must carry credibility with colleagues. They will play a vital role in enabling successful service transition and therefore must have an aptitude for understanding digital systems and its enablers in healthcare. The postholder will be expected to attend all the workflow and content events related to their expertise for the project, once per week in the first instance however as the implementation progresses you will be required to commit to more.

The post holder will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the new LIMS across the network and will be working closely with the Pathology Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders. They will be monitoring compliance, achievement of key targets and the development of robust systems and processes which will ensure timely delivery of information as a key element of this post. The post holder will work with appropriate staff to analyse and plan the developing needs of the service to promote the achievement of the Network.

They will be the point of contact for the discipline and be responsive to queries from a range of stakeholders including SYB Pathology Transformation Board, discipline leads, Reference Group leads, colleagues, suppliers and the LIMS project management team.

Working collaboratively with key stakeholder colleagues from SYBP Network the post holder will use their expert discipline knowledge to inform the design and configuration of the new system, ensuring that key design decisions are agreed within the SYBP Network Reference Groups.

Working with the Testing Manager the post holder will ensure that discipline specific test scripts are built. They will work with the Training Manager in the development of appropriate training materials.

The post holder will analyse Data to monitor performance trends and targets utilising the pathology annual business plan as a framework to achieve improvement in processes and patient outcomes.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period until 31 May 2026 due to the post being recruited as part of a limited term project within the Trust. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the requirement for the post to be maintained as a part of the project’s implementation and the timescales associated with this.
