**About the Service/Department**
Harrow Domestic Abuse Services delivers an Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy service and Safety Planning across the London Borough of Harrow. A welcoming team constructed of a Police IDVA, Community IDVA, Safety Planner within Social Service and Floating Support Worker provide highly efficient support to High and Medium Risk Service Users who have been affected by Domestic Abuse.

The service also provides Refuge access to High Risk Women and Children with an onsite Refugee Worker to provide daily support during the week as well as regular visits from a Healthcare Co-ordinator.

The main office is based in Harrow with satellite locations in the community and Brent Police station. Working closely with key stakeholders such as the Police, local authority, social services and community groups, the aims of the service is to provide an integrated domestic abuse response to survivors of abuse to reduce risk and facilitate a life free from abuse.

**About the role**

Improve each client’s quality of life and promoting and maintaining independent living for themselves and any dependents they may have.

Some other main responsibilities of the role include:

- To provide accommodation in a safe location, ensuring confidentiality is maintained and that all health and safety requirements are followed
- To ensure that money paid by service users towards their rent is collected, recorded and banked in line with policy and procedure. To ensure that any monies spent through petty cash is recorded in line with policy and procedure
- Adhere to all standards of the Accommodation Based Service Specification and the Quality Assessment Framework conditions, including, service delivery, completing all monitoring and relevant reports, case files and following all policy and procedures

**About you**
- Experience of working with people with a range of different support needs, aspirations for their future and associated risks
- Experience of delivering high quality floating/outreach support services to people with a range of needs and risks
- Good knowledge of welfare benefits and housing options and legislation related to statutory duty
- Knowledge of health and safety relevant to role as a Floating Support Worker and working in Service User’s homes
- An ability to undertake client-focused key working, support planning and risk assessments to maximise Service Users’ independence
- Good understanding of the range of issues, diagnoses and treatment relevant to the client group including mental health and substance misuse
- Commitment to equal opportunities and to promoting service users’ rights, privacy, dignity, choice and control
- Ability to liaise with external professionals to inform and develop Service Users’ support package
- Willingness to actively engage in undertaking relevant personal development and training
- Ability to travel throughout the Borough of operation.
- Previous experience of using computer based systems to accurately record work and client details
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
