We are looking for Refuse Loaders to join our depot in Northallerton, you will be covering a significant rural area with picturesque towns and villages.

**No previous experience is required, and full training will be given.**

Working in small crews in your dedicated area of the county, you will be collecting residual waste, garden waste, or recyclable materials from domestic properties. You will have to be able to lift heavy bags and recycling boxes, and move wheelie bins to the lifting mechanism on the refuse/recycling vehicle. It will involve walking up to 16 miles per days pushing and pulling heavy bins. Health and safety is also critical to ensure your team and residents are safe, including supporting your driver to help them navigate the roads/streets of North Yorkshire safely.

The role is a hugely important one. You will be on the front-line of a key service in the newly formed North Yorkshire Council.

You need to be prepared to start early and weekend working will occasionally be required.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Collection and emptying of receptacles.
- Removing spillages, reporting contamination.
- To support the driver in undertaking risk assessments.
- Assisting the driver, ensuring manoeuvres are completed safely and mitigate the risk to pedestrians and other road users.
- Responsible for the health and safety of self and colleagues, ensuring that all safe working practices are followed.
