Poynton Baptist Church (PBC) is a busy place, with activities taking place throughout the week. It is vital that it is kept clean and tidy so that it is a place where people want to be. The role holder will need to liaise with the Operations Manager to know what activities are due to take place in order to ensure that the rooms and spaces are clean and ready for use. Some odd jobs will also need to be done to ensure that the building is kept up to scratch. Most weeks will follow the same pattern of when the cleaning and setting up should be carried out, but there may be occasions when flexibility is required to prepare the church before and after events such as weddings and funerals.

**Responsibilities**:
**Cleaning**
- Toilets - clean toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors and waste bins (sanitary bins are emptied by contractors), and keep them stocked up with toilet paper and hand wash
- Sanctuary - vacuum throughout
- Clay area - clean the floor to ensure that it is ready for use by Linkers on Tuesdays and Clay Coffee House on Wednesdays (the café area and downstairs toilets are cleaned by the cleaner for Clay from Wednesday to Saturday)
- Upstairs rooms - vacuum and clean according to use
- Kitchens - ensure that kitchens are clean and ready for the next group due to use them
- Windows - clean the insides of windows in areas of heavy usage
- Take general waste and recycling bags to bins and renew bin bags
- Liaise with the office over the ordering of cleaning supplies
- Liaise with the cleaner for Clay Coffee House to ensure that all areas of the church are cleaned as necessary
- Outside - making sure that the area outside the building is presentable and clear of rubbish

**Setting up**
- Work in conjunction with the chair teams to ensure that chairs and rooms are set out and ready for the next groups due to use them.

**Care of the building**
- Liaise with the Building team when items needing repair are identified, agreeing who will complete the repairs
- Repairing sanctuary chairs when seat pads come loose

**Due to the nature of this role an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check is required before a final job offer is made.**
