We are looking for a **Careers and Work Placement Coordinator** to join our busy **Employer Engagement team** here at Yeovil College.

The role will involve maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of local labour market trends and work as part of the Employer Engagement Team to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with employers. Taking responsibility for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments within the College, other local providers, the further education sector and the higher education sector to enable the provision of impartial advice and guidance to prospective and current learners, parents and other customers of the service. Actively promoting the value of Work Experience/Industry Placements to learners, setting targets and goals to get the most out of the placement opportunity with possible routes of progression.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- Full Level 3 Qualification.
- Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy.
- Hold a current, clean and valid driving licence to be able to drive to events off-site transporting college promotional material/stands.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate fluently, succinctly and effectively with a wide range of individuals including students, staff and external organisations.
- An ability to conduct one-to-one discussions with a wide range of individuals.
- Keep accurate records of interviews and actions.
- Proven initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Good level of skill & knowledge around Microsoft Office packages and using web-based information.
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- The ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- An ability to relate to, and empathise with, students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
- Good presentation skills.
- An understanding of the Health and Safety requirements in the workplace and the importance of following procedures.
- Outgoing, personable, enthusiastic and determined.
- A willing, flexible and adaptable approach to work and a willingness to adopt a flexible work pattern

**Full time 37 hours a week, all year round**

**Salary £24,000**
