Park Ranger - Grounds

Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park are delighted to be looking for a full-time Park Ranger to join our busy Grounds and Estates team.

**Main Responsibilities**

Construction and maintenance of a range of fencing across the site - post & rail, post & wire, chainlink and closeboard.

Construction and maintenance of path and trackways, including aggregate surfaces, boardwalks, bridges and decking.

Installation and maintenance of gates for pedestrian, vehicle and emergency access.

Pressure washing inside and outside.

Carrying out small maintenance issues, within our grounds and buildings.

Keeping organised and tidy workspaces, tools and materials.

Taking a turn with refuse collection, litter picking and car parking duties during busy periods.

Any other tasks to assist different teams including our animal rangers, catering, cleaning and retail staff.

**Essential Qualities**

Ability to plan, select suitable materials and install fencing and hard landscaping features to a high standard.

A working knowledge of Health and Safety considerations on construction projects.

Experience of using both hand and power tools including drills, drivers, saws etc.

Experience of using grounds maintenance machinery including whacker plate, strimmer, hedge cutter.

Experience of driving plant machinery including telehandler (J2), digger, dumper, tractor.

A hard working and ‘can do’ positive attitude

Willing to learn new skills and problem solve

Availability to work at least one weekend day per week

Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

**Desirable Qualities**

Experience dealing with construction, maintenance or grounds work within a public setting

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £26,435.55 per year
