**About the role**
Balfour Beatty has an fantastic opportunity for a **Signalling Trainee** to join our Signalling team in **Cardiff**. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about the railway industry to embark on a fulfilling career path within our talented** Signalling Team.**

**What you'll be doing**
- Attend signalling specific training as set out by the line manager at timely intervals to gain signalling knowledge.
- Undertake installation work.
- Comply with health, quality, safety and environmental instructions.
- Maintain IRSE logbook.
- Attend team, technical and safety briefs.
- Complete required paperwork for planned work.
- Carry out installation work to Signalling Installation Handbook (SIH) standards.
- Keep a safety record (number of incidents/ accidents)

**Who we are looking for**
- Basic understanding of the railway
- Numerate and literate
- Basic computer operating skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Driving licence (essential)
- Good communication skills
- Maths, English GCSE’s of D or above

Qualifications / training you will get with Balfour Beatty support within a year:

- Valid PTS with AC/DC
- Emergency first aid
- Fire safety
- COSHH appreciation
- Small tools
- Working in confined spaces
