**Youth Worker for Special Educational Needs School in Stockport**

**Position: Youth Worker** **Location: Stockport, United Kingdom** **Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday)**

**Job Overview**:
As a Youth Worker at our special educational needs school, you will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of our students. Working closely with our teaching and support staff, you will be responsible for fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes learning, growth, and well-being.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Establish strong rapport and build positive relationships with students with special educational needs.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, assisting them in their personal development and educational progress.
- Create and implement engaging activities that promote social interaction, creativity, and skill-building.
- Support students during classroom activities and off-site excursions, ensuring their safety and participation.
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individualized education and behavior plans.
- Monitor and report progress and behavioral patterns of students, keeping accurate records.
- Work with other school staff to identify and address challenges that students may face.
- Engage with parents and guardians, providing updates on students' progress and offering strategies for continued support at home.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and respects the individuality of each student.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with young people, especially those with special educational needs, is desirable.
- Possess empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Understanding of safeguarding and the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for students.
- A relevant qualification in youth work, special education, or a related field would be advantageous.
