**About the role**

As a Finance Apprentice, you'll start with the essentials, immersing yourself in the basics of accounting. Your tasks will include inputting financial data, preparing payments, and maintaining ledgers. But that's just the beginning - as you progress, you'll dive into reconciling nominals, collaborating on projects with diverse stakeholders, and contributing to month-end accounts and quarterly VAT returns. Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll immerse yourself in various aspects of finance, encompassing accounts payable management, management accounting, budgeting/forecasting, project accounting, and unforeseen ad-hoc opportunities.

You will be supported by a mentor who has progressed through the same apprenticeship program, and an immensely experienced team will be at your disposal for unwavering support. Additionally, 20% of your apprenticeship hours will be devoted to off-the-job activities, including exam preparation, shadowing senior staff, tutorials with your mentor or colleagues, and other developmental sessions, enhancing your overall learning experience.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

- Maintaining accurate and detailed supplier records
- Preparation of weekly payment runs
- Petty Cash and Personal Expenses processing
- Reconciliation of ledger balances and query resolution
- Posting of bank receipts and payments
- Preparing and entering journals into the system
- Maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting with month end preparation
- Providing support during the annual audit period
- Working on various projects providing finance assistance
- Assisting with preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Other ad-hoc duties
