**Research Fellow in Crop Genetics**:
**Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have an established background in cereal developmental biology and genetics? Do you want to further your career in one of the UKs leading research intensive Universities?**:
We are motivated to understand how cereal development is regulated by environmental factors. To do this we employ a wide range of techniques rooted in molecular biology and molecular genetics. This role will involve developing and testing hypothesis around the regulation of floral meristems during wheat development and conducting molecular experiments to understand how early floral development is regulated by light and temperature. From these experiments the data will need to be critically analysed and learning from the experiments applied to form new hypothesis and experiments. The role will include detailed developmental analysis of wheat plants, including by molecular experiments, such as expression assays and cloning to understand gene function.

For this role, you should have a PhD (or close to completion) in molecular biology in plant science or a closely allied discipline. You should also have experience in cereal floral development and the identification of developmental stages; RNA-seq design and analysis; and molecular cloning.
