**Job Purpose**:
To provide category management and support within the Purchasing function of the Supply Chain team.

**Duties**:
Including, but not limited to:

- Placing and expediting orders with suppliers;
- Building and managing relationships with suppliers;
- Liaising heavily with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the availability and timeliness of materials for production across the site;
- Being an active participant in the Supply Chain team to continually drive process and procedural improvements in the daily work;
- Monitoring order prices against standard with an objective to save money;
- Supporting the Head of Purchasing in delivering an effective procurement strategy;
**Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Have GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English;
- Administration experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally (although not essential) with a purchasing background
- An eagerness to pursue a career in Purchasing;
- Computer literate with excellent general IT skills, ideally including a good understanding of Excel;
- Good organisational and time management skills;
- Have strong attention to detail;
- Be self-motivated, determined and driven to develop the role;
- Work well under pressure with the ability to work to strict deadlines;
- A proactive team player who is honest, hardworking and reliable;
- Able to follow procedures and instructions well;
- A willingness to ask questions, learn, challenge and be directed as the role requires.
