**Position: Cook / Housekeeper**:
Salary**:£13.00** per hour

Establishment**:Nursery School**

Location**:Abingdon**

Hours**:8.00 - 15.30** Monday to Friday

A nursery school in Abingdon are currently seeking a Cook/Housekeeper to join their friendly team, reporting into the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.

**Key tasks include**:

- Plan the menus for 3 weeks in advance ensuring that they are appropriate for the children's ages and all nutritional requirements are met.
- Familiarise yourself with the allergies and parental preferences of the children so that separate meals can be planned for.
- Ensure that all requirements of the Environment Health are in place.
- Ensure that the meals are cooked to the correct temperature.
- Keep the kitchen and your work area clean to the correct environmental health standards.
- To have a high regard for the culture of the nursery and Chatsworth Schools
- Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of the Nursery and Chatsworth Schools, ensuring compliance with the Children Act 2006, Health and Safety Legislation, all within the requirements and guidance laid down by Ofsted and the EYFS.
- Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager and Chatsworth Schools

- You will require excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to develop effective relationships with parents, colleagues and outside agencies. IT capability is essential as is the ability to prioritise, plan and time manage effectively.
- You have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children whom you come into contact. It is your responsibility to adhere to and ensure compliance with the nursery's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy at all times. If at any time you identify that a child or young person is at risk you must report concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Gemma Brown) or the Deputy DSL (Carol Underwood).
- A genuine enjoyment of working with young children and a sense of humour are important as well as a high regard for always striving for the best you can be in all aspects of your role.
